Corona Virus 2020 - Spending time at home

Hello friends,

Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought we would have blog post titled after a virus. But here we are at the start of Spring in self quarantine with the hopes we do not catch the virus that shares a name with beer. 😏

I have been making the most of our time at home and have weeded our flowerbeds, cleaned and disinfected our home, and gotten to sleep in on a Sunday. I have invested in a Bissell steam mop to help sanitize our floors on a regular basis since my husband still has to go out of the home for work. Thankfully, I am working from home for the duration.  I will be sharing my review of the new steam mop with my Amazon finds for the month very soon.

I have found some good things to share while scrolling IG lately. Here are a couple of recipes for treats if you find the need to feed your family a new snack.

This layered dessert recipe was shared by Abi at @abiayres on IG. I have seen similar versions using blueberries or strawberries.

This popcorn recipe was shared by a church friend.

Do you have children or grands that are getting bored at home? I found this list of indoor activities that might keep them occupied for a bit.

And here is a floral craft project for you that will add some joy and brightness to your home. If you have a Trader Joe's nearby, it would be easy to pick up the bright flowers and pineapple on your way in.

Make sure your pineapple is level on the bottom before you buy it. Also, floral foam that has been soaked in water might be a good addition to the inside once you hollow it out.

Lastly, here are some self care tips that might be useful. I hope you and your loved ones stay safe and well. Take care, Anne

  1. Who would have ever dreamed? I love my Shark Steam Mop and guess I should do our floors tomorrow. We're not out much, but still, that would be a good thing to do. All the best as we wait it out. Stay well!

  3. Crazy times, indeed! My kids have been doing a daily lego challenge and lots of arts and crafts as well as some school focused activities and outdoor play when the weather permits (which it hasn’t been). Thanks for sharing these suggestions!

  4. Wow, these are crazy times. I was hoping my daughter would like to take the grands for a walk but she won't leave the house. She is immuno-compromised and I understand that, but I find it hard to believe that we can catch this by walking outside. But what do I know? Just crazy times.

Wish we had a Trader Joe's. That elote seasoning sounds delicious - on popcorn and corn!!

  5. I think it would be fine to get out of the house as long as you keep your distance from people. Ha! But I can understand her concern. Hopefully TJ's will make its way to El Paso!
